This Is Why I Go To Bed First
Before I forget, go play my fun game from last night's post. Answers go up Monday night!
*************************************
Last night, I was trying to finish something before heading to bed. My husband happened to decide to go to bed about five minutes before I was finished. I didn't notice at first, but I quickly did.
You don't need to adjust your monitor, as there isn't any picture, but you need to listen to the audio. This is what I heard through the closed bedroom door, downstairs, while I had a television on. It was louder than the television. Out of respect to my husband, I chose to not turn on the lights.
Go ahead. Feel my pain.
Tonight? I figure I've got another ten minutes before I need to race upstairs and try to fall asleep before my husband gets there.
The kicker? When I played this for him this afternoon, he said it sounded a little like a creaky boat and wasn't that loud. It's all in your perspective, I suppose.

My wife claims that I snore too. I don't believe her. And I'm also not going to show her this post.
Are you sure that was your house? Seriously? I hear that exact noise EVERY NIGHT if I don't fall asleep first!
Oh. My. Good luck tonight!!
Too funny... for those of us sleeping in other houses. :)
My husband snores too! Did yours ever see an ENT about it? He may have large tonsils or sleep apnea. Good luck to you!
Oh how I feel your pain!!! My husband is so loud and I half the time end up on the couch!! Thanks for stopping by my blog and putting our button on your sidebar! Have a great Monday!
LMAO Michelle! I'm such a light sleeper that even if I did go to sleep first THAT would wake me up!
Mainly I have to put up with foot tapping - does your husband do that? mine taps his foot to some rhythm in his head until the whole bed is shaking and that has woken me up on more than one occassion..
good luck tonight!
Welcome to my world! next time play it right in his ear while he is trying to sleep! LOL
Oh, I feel your pain...in fact, I plan to post about just this problem tomorrow. I think, though, I might have hit on a solution. Hey...I've left a bit o' bloggy bling at my place for you today. Please come check it out!
I leave my husband snoring on the recliner and sneak off into our bedroom each night. I can hear him still but not as loud. I feel a little guilty about leaving him there. But I don't mind getting to sleep before the snoring serenade kicks in! I love that you recorded it for us. So funny!
Jeff - Oh your poor wife. It probably is best she not see this. You don't want people collecting ammunition against you!
Smoochiefrog - I think I'm more depressed to learn that this occurs elsewhere than relieved. I'm so sorry!
morninglight mama - Yeah. YOU can find it funny. And I did make it to bed before him last night. Yay!
Cookie - He hasn't... although we've suggested it. If the C-PAP is the solution though, I think I'd almost rather just go to bed earlier ;) Because it's all about me, ya know!
Tanielle - Ouch! I don't actually end up on the couch, luckily. That's painful.
MaBunny - Foot tapping? I've never heard of that one. That would drive me nuts, too!
Steph - I would except that I played it for him and he didn't thikn it was loud at all. Plus, he's a REALLY sound sleeper. Lucky him.
Veggie Mom - Ooooo, a solution for this AND bloggy bling? Way cool!
septembermom - I've tried that (as he does fall asleep in the big chair sometimes), but he always wakes up eventually and makes it to bed. Glad oyu enjoyed it :)
OMG. It sounded like a LOUD creaky boat. :)
But I snore on occasion too, so I shouldn't throw stones...
Melisa - Oh go ahead and cast stones. Pretty special though, isn't it? :)
LOLOLOLOL!! I'm NOT laughing at you - I'm feeling your pain because my husband also snores like a freight train. I totally understand. For YEARS I had issues with even worse insomnia than I struggle with now, until I finally learned to go to sleep before he does. Now he's pretty well "trained" and will roll over onto his side as soon as I nudge him, but still... when he's sick or has had a lot to drink it's just awfully loud.
Angela - Oh no. Not laughing at me. Never that. Here's hope then that my husband will train. Someday. :)
I hear that at night sometimes, too. Maybe your hubby needs a CPAP.
Pat - It's funny but lately he hasn't snored at all. Not that he was really heavy, but having lost 20 pounds made a HUGE difference in his snoring, and even he's noticed the change.
