Oops.
I told y'all about my issue with sunglasses awhile ago. You understand why I don't buy the expensive ones.
Yesterday, we had a minor miracle around here. Chicago -- in the middle of winter, people! -- saw the sun. In fact, there was enough sun to necessitate wearing sunglasses, and I don't mean they were required only for certain people who may have wimpy eyes that need sunglasses even when the sun in ninety-five percent of the way set.
I put my sunglasses on, and all was right with the world. I walked into Target to return a couple of books Mister Man got for Christmas and exchange them for something he'd like better (other books, mind you). Once inside, I was able to safely take off my sunglasses.
See how the lens popped out there?
Yeah, it wasn't really just the lens popping out. The metal frame actually came apart. It opened up and twisted off when I removed the sunglasses. As I tried to figure out if this was irreparable damage or not, the left half broke off from the right half. I guess I'm not wearing these ones again.
On the plus side, Target does have an awfully nice selection of sunglasses. I was able to find a replacement pair.
Then again, this is nothing compared to what my husband did. You'll have to wait for that post though!

Seems like we have the same name and the same issues with Sunglasses! Mine are ALWAYS breaking!
At least you were able to get them replaced right there instead of having it happen while you were driving, squinting into the sun.
Yikes! That happened to me last summer at the Mariners game. Sometimes I think you are copying me. First the same sandals, then the same patio furniture and now broken sunglasses...
Way to leave us hanging!
I always manage to break my husband's sunglasses. But I've had the same pair for three years. I wish I could remember where I got them.
I have the WORST time with sunglasses! And, ditto on the not buying expensive shades...I advocate buying in bulk at places like Target. I guess you know that I'm having a Giveaway this week...please drop by soon!
Michelle - Maybe it's a Michelle thing?
Karen - Oooo, really good point! I hate squinting. And yes, I was able to replace them. And it's possible that I replaced them with an identical pair. You'd think I'd be smart enough to choose a more durable pair this time.
Cookie - Darn, you're on to me!
Weaselmomma - Oops! Thanks for reminding me. I'll make it tomorrow's post. Today needs to (finally) be the wrapup from San Antonio... I think. Otherwise, I'll NEVER do that.
Mary - Oh, he must love it when you do that. Repeatedly. Good thing he love you, huh? ;)
Veggie Mom - And yes, it's possible that my new and old sunglasses came from Target. Just possible though ;) And I stopped by... you knew I would!
Soo sooo sorry about those vikings :P
Cookie - I'm sure you are. Like I said, I wanted them to play the 'Boys! And sadly, I didn't get to watch much of the game since my husband decided to leave me alone with the wee ones while I tried to watch. Little Miss broke her Tinkerbell teaset that HE left within arm's reach. *sigh* And I missed most of the fourth quarter entirely. Stupid recording feature.
