Welcome To Chicago

So you thought it would be fun to hang out with us up here in the great white north? Ok, so technically Chicago isn't that far north. And there are a lot of places that are colder and get more snow, but compared to St Louis, where my husband is from, we're as good as Eskimos. That doesn't keep us from having fun though!

Of course, Little Miss was all over getting on the sled immediately. Mister Man was too busy trying to bury the shovel, first. Once he heard he might be missing out on something though, he was racing to get on the sled.

Little Miss got too cold after a bit and came inside to warm up (and hang out with Grandma), but Mister Man stayed outside for awhile after and had lots of fun heading down the hill all on his own!

The scary thing is that this is only the second weekend in December, and we've already had a few true snowstorms. Tuesday, they're predicting a "significant accumulation" although they've yet to define what that is. I may be ready to move down south soon!

At least I'll have a warm New Years since Northwestern is going to the Alamo Bowl! (You knew I'd sneak that in somewhere, didn't you?)

Storm's a comin, tomorrow!

I just hope that the big storms coincide with the weekends this winter (not too much to ask, huh?) so I can take the dog snowshoeing with me.

Melisa - Don't tell me that! I heard we're just getting a little snow overnight with the major snow to come late Tuesday afternoon and overnight. Have they changed the forecast already (because tomorrow is the ONE day I drive the 35 miles to the office on a two lane road and let's just say it isn't conducive to snow travel)?

How FUN! I can't even begin to tell you how jealous I am of that snow!!!!! Enjoy!

Have a good week - Kellan

I'm envious of all the snow! We haven't had enough to have any fun in yet, but I hope it's coming (just not on the marathon shopping day I have planned)

That looks like so much fun! I miss the snow.

Ack! I don't want to hear accumulation...I have to be in Elk Grove tomorrow...no fun driving in this snow.

That is quite the hill. Looks like a lot of fun!

Kellan - Ummm, I'd say that I'd trade with you except that I'm already going to be in San Antonio after Christmas :) You wouldn't be jealous after the first hour. I promise.

Gina - I'm sure it will come. And probably on that marathon shopping day you have planned. Maybe you should fake them out and go a non-planned day?

Cookie - Actually, it was fun -- but it was also COLD. REALLY cold. 17 without the windchill, and I think you can tell from the blowing snow how windy it was.

Melissa - Actually new forecast says the snow is going north of the border line, so we're fine. We just get rain from now until 5am on Wednesday. Yuck. What's in Elk Grove?

That looks like so much fun, I want to do that someday!
I'm hoping to go to Northwestern in a few years for my masters, but after seeing all that snow I don't know if my FL body could handle that!!
I guess it's time to venture to Chicago in the winter to see if I can stand the cold.

Kelsey - You do somehow survive. I knew people from far warmer places than India who made it. As undergrads. At a grad student, you only have to go to one building vs walking a mile from south campus to north campus. MUCH easier. Good luck!

Please send the snow our way I am in need of a snow day!!!

Steph - Ummm I hate to break it to you, but that doesn't make for a snow day. That's just a normal day with nasty roads and some time to play in the sun if you're lucky!
