Reunions. Ugh. Should I Go?
This week's #VlogMom prompt comes from Rajean Blomquist at B Cause I Said So. She has her 30th high school reunion next week, so she wants to know about ours. She wants to know if we have gone to any and why or why not. And then... there are the reunion stories. That's the best part, right?
So I have my 15th college reunion next month. I still haven't decided if I'm going to more than the football game (which I would do anyway, since I already have season tickets). But really... I just want your best reunion stories. I know they're out there!

1. Your hair looks AMAZING. AMAZING!!!
2. Loved hearing "Meep meep!" halfway through.
3. No, don't go. Not worth it since the advent of Facebook.
Great vlog! I'm still deciding whether or not to even go, but then the events...same as you, I'd rather just hang out.
MMMF!
Michelle, Thanks for answering my question! I agree, the five year reunions might be 'too soon,' for much to change. Our school has been on the ten year plan :-) I seem to be in the minority, I've enjoyed my h.s. reunions and haven't really heard much about my college reunions. But Facebook is changing the landscape. Some want to come because of FB interation and some say that is enough. Have fun in October. I personally think you should go to the events, you might make new friends with common interests!
Your hair looks so cute!
Jessica of A Parent in America referred to a reunion as a “pool of awkwardness” and that hit the nail on the head for me!! I went to my 10-year, 20-year and 25-year hs reunions, but skipped all the rest (30, 35, 40, 45). I chalked it up to “I’m an introvert and haven’t kept up with anyone from hs.” But when I heard Jessica say, “pool of awkwardness,” it resonated with me and it’s still resonating!
On the other hand, I love going to my husband’s hs reunions because he went to a small rural school and loves seeing his old classmates at reunions. They all love seeing him, too, So I ride along on his popularity coattails and have a great time! He was the smart, wise-cracking guy who got along with everyone, no matter what his/her “social class” was.
I've never gone to any college reunions.
Yeah, I can't get past how GREAT your hair looks.
Melisa - The fact that you HEARD the meep meep makes me laugh! I didn't even notice it. I was too focused on the camera clicking as it focused. Repeatedly.
MommyB - I'd love more than just the one event for the weekend. My college reunion has them, and I'm local... but no one's going this time!
Liz - I'm ashamed to admit it, but it took me a good two or three minutes to clue in on mmmf! MMMF!
Rajean - I do wonder how much of the lack of interest is because of FB. And partly the economy. And busy lives... I'm still debating, but I'll at least do the Homecoming brunch.
Pat - Apparently I need to post about my hair issues. Thank you. I disagree, but thank you ;)
Unknown Mami - bwah ha ha ha! I actually had to call Melisa after her comment. Yep, definitely a post coming on that!
