Wordless Wednesday - I Am Not A Cake Decorator
I bake things to taste good. Looking good is beyond me. As I prepared to head out to Little Miss's birthday party with her completely plain chocolate frosted (yummy) cake, I panicked. I grabbed the purple gel writer I happened to have on hand and stuck in a couple extra froggy cookies from her goodie bag. The good news is that you can't see how the purple gel ran in this photo my friend took.
I thought being funny might help, thus the "Hoppy" birthday for her frog themed party. I have a feeling no bakery is going to hire me anytime soon!

LOL. The most important thing is that it tastes good!
All the kids care about is that it's cake, there's frosting and it's chocolate. Perfection.
I would love to try my hand at cake decorating.....but my efforts would probably only end in frustration!
Dittoes to Tara R's comment--the kids are just jazzed to see that Mom (or friend's mom?) wrote on their cake and even their name is one it. Taste is what matters!
Well, I love it!! You took on something (that I know I am awful at) and you made it look pretty darn good! It's for the kids, it's worth the effort & the smiles.
I was all, what is that black goop at the bottom? It took a few minutes, but I finally figured out that you were just blotting out the name, lol.
HAHAHAHAHHAHA. you should be on cake wrecks! BUT i bet they are SO GOOD. yum
Laila - that is my philosophy, too. Obviously ;)
Tara - I think I'm good for another year or so, but I'm in trouble soon!
Kim - aim low. Apparently it works ....
Pat - I hope that stays the case for awhile. With the dairy allergy, I'm not buying one anytime soon!
Lex - glad you think it looms good. It's the benefit of bad photography ;)
Laurel - Yeah, although given the talent I used on it, there very well could have been black goop o the bottom of it!
Heather - I don't think I like you anymore. That was not very nice ;P
I know it's delicious!!!!
