What Not To Wear

Hey Chicago peeps - do you and your kids like theater? A chance to win tickets to The Emperor's New Clothes from the Shakespeare Theater here.

Last week, I talked about the ummm fun lessons I learned while coaching t-ball. Trust me, they were hilarious. At least in my head. It is possible that I'm going off my rocker after coaching eleven kids in t-ball though.

Anyway, I was going through my camera, and I realized that I had a photo that I was going to share as one of my lessons, but I completely forgot about it. It's still worth sharing though, even on its own.

Just a suggestion. BUT

Don't wear high heels to a t-ball game. Especially not in Chicago where it's been storming for days and the ground is very soft. At a t-ball game, you're likely to have to walk in muddy gravel, muddy grass, just plain mud, or all of the above. Those types of surfaces tend to enjoy swallowing up the pointy ends of heels, either ruining them or making for a not so fun cleaning job since that gravel is like cement.

I am being kind in not showing the face of the person who did this, as it's possible that she's related to me, so just consider this a public service announcement. Heels an t-ball don't mix. (I thought that one was obvious, but evidence shows I was wrong. Very, very wrong.)

She does have lovely legs, though.

Lol at the comment from Unknown Mami!

But, um, yes. Thou shalt not wear high heals to a t-ball game. Ever. Especially seasonably wet places like Chicago.

All three of my sons had outdoor weddings, so I mentioned to my first soon-to-be daughter-in-law that she might want to mention that the wedding would be outdoors on grass and so not to wear spike heels. She did include that info in the invitations, fortunately.

I'm guessing that women in spike heels at your son's T-ball games came straight from work. But they should have planned ahead!

I'm with Pat.

I have gone to Lacrosse games wearing heels because I got stuck at work way longer than expected on several occasions.

But, if it's happened more than once there is that element of preparing a little better...

Hyacynth - I'd pass that compliment along, but she doesn't know I took the pic, nor that I posted it :)

Hyacynth - Amen! It cracked me up every time I watched her try to walk and just sink into the turf.

Pat - That's hilarious. I've had my share of heels digging into the dirt when at events, but I've never been warned. I'm trying to picture the langugage for it!

Melisa - Ummm yeah.... The spike heels were on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm. And the person who wore them doesn't work in an office ever. This was purely by choice.

Alexis - Uhhh yeah. We had some of that when we had our farm field trip. All you can do is shake your head!
