He Lied To Me!
I know my husband is older than me, and sometimes it's amazing to me how different our childhoods were and the different things we remember.
It really hit home yesterday when I got the mail.
Seriously? An AARP card? And not even a "hey, we'd love to have you join us" but an actual card sent with it?
Ok, so I'm really getting some mileage out of this one. The second my husband got home and discovered it, the solicitation went straight into the shredder. Poor guy. He honestly does have well more than a decade left before he actually qualifies, but what a downer!

We've been getting those for years. It's so sad. Are they desperate for members or something?
LOL I remember when my hubby got his little letter...I've been mocking him ever since...soooo much fun! I just hope I'm the first one to the mailbox when mine comes!!!
Hey, tell him to look on the bright side, a lot of great breakfast restaurants have senior discounts!!
Hello! How r u doing today? Hope everything's well with you. Happy MOnday. See yah!
Oops. My bad. The comment page was hidden underneath all my other windows I had open.... lol
So just disregard my email.
Hello to you from SITS! I was the comment directly below you and stopped to say hello!
ROFL!
Poor guy! Well, tell him not to feel too bad. My hubby is about 7 years older than me, so I give him grief all the time. He never hears the end of it :-)
Seriously what is it with AARP? I wonder where they get their records? I've been getting stuff from them every year for the past 10 years! I'm not kidding! And it's going to be at least 30 years before I need AARP!
Karen - You're crushing my dream of AARP magically thinking my husband and my husband alone was mistakenly solicited ;)
Nikkicrumpet - Welcome! Yep, the mocking will never cease :) And I'm TOTALLY making my way to the mailbox first. May we both be successful!
Anymommy - True, very true. Of course we have two brunch gift certificatees that we have yet to use and are soon to expire because we somehow never have time to eat out. Good silver lining!
Ly - Welcome, and thanks for visiting.
Rhonda - Welcome! And no worries :)
Cookie - You've got to love it, don't you?
Angela - Yeah, poor guy. Whatever! And should I assume from the "about" seven years that he's not quite seven years but close enough for government work?
Sydney - I'm not sure, but I'm thinking maybe I could make a lot of money for them by selling them a better direct marketing list. Maybe it's that my husband BUYS something old?
