Wanted!
We're in week three of t-ball. That means I've done uniform laundry twice so far. Twice. Mister Man's team is the Mets, as in the Bingham Mets of minor league fame.
And they're apparently orange. His shirt is orange. And his socks are orange.
Orange is kind of a hard color to miss -- at least in my house. And those socks are big. They literally go up to mid-thigh on him. Plus, they're really thick, wool socks, apparently because we start playing in the middle of winter around here (mid-April).
So can someone please explain why this weekend I was only able to find one hideously orange sock?
Seriously, where can the other one be? I had no idea that the laundry gnomes were this ... lacking in taste.
The worst part? What store possibly sells bright orange t-ball socks? Do you think anyone will notice if I pull the t-ball pants all the way down to his ankles next weekend?

The orange sock mystery! This could drive you crazy. I know that they sell all color soccer socks in my area. I wonder if you could find an orange pair that would work for your guy?
I am dead serious when I say this: That color is Tennessee Orange, as in the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. The hardware stores even sell paint in "Tennessee Orange". It's too bad I'm not visiting the parents this weekend, because i could probably bring you back a gross of them for ten bucks. I'd look online. :)
Ask Yaya - she has an orange shop! Otherwise, I don't know what to tell ya. Good luck. :)
ARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!! I hate when that happens.
It's the Sock Monster who lives in the dryer...didn't you know that? And when you find the green goalie sock that we've been missing for 3 years, please send it to me, OK?
ROFL! Some dryers are known to be one-way for socks. They come in but they never come out ;) Good luck!
Too funny, my 1st thought was also to ask Yaya, she is everything that is orange.
septembermom - Oooo there is a soccer store about fifteen minutes from me. I bet they'd have it! The regular sports store doesn't stoop so low ;)
Melisa - Yes, yes it is Tennessee Orange. Such a shame you can't bring me a whole gross....
RAS - Uhhh Yaya? What's yaya?
Karen - Hey, at least I'm not alone, right?
Veggie Mom - I'd think so except that I don't use the dryer. As for that green sock, is the child with the green sock still wearing green goalie socks now?
Cookie - Totally blaming the washer on this one. And you should see my pile of mismatched socks that I just keep washing over and over in the hopes that someday the mate will show up.
Megryansmom - I need to go google yaya now. I'm so intrigued!
I think there's a whole post on 'adventures of the runaway sock' in here somewhere.
Weaselmomma - Ohhh, I daresay you may be right. You should see my pile :)
Socks are evil. I don't know any other reason to explain how one will just up and disappear!
Heather - Now that's an interesting concept. And here I thought someone or something was doing it TO the socks. Now I discover it's the socks themselves that are the problem!
