Oops.

In a way, I'm glad that Mister Man already knows how to read. And he's getting better at spelling. This is not due to the teaching he's getting at the kindergarten he attends through daycare.

I was going through his backpack last night and came upon a short story that the children were supposed to read and then copy onto the back side. Mister Man didn't do much in the way of copying, what with his arm and all, and it's a good thing, too! Hopefully, this didn't sink in.

So how exactly does a dog wage his tail? Is it kind of like fighting a war? Is it a way of paying his tail?

  1. they should teach spelling in college!

My daughter's 4th grade teacher couldn't spell a thing. Drove me insane!

  2. Was he waging a war with his tail, or what? Perhaps he was perturbed with the mail? Or the pail? Geeesh!

  3. Too funny. I guess if you're gonna screw up the spelling, Kindergarten is the place to do it.

btw... Your blog was obviously not included in my post about "blogging lulls." You've been blogging like a freight train lately!

  4. I'm laughing, thinking I've probably done the same thing. At least he didn't copy it!

  5. OMGosh! Hilarious!

When you find out, let me know!

  6. That's why we have a herd of mostly tail-less dogs. With the sheer numbers we have here we can't afford to have tails wages against us.

  7. *waged. Geez. That would have made more sense.

  8. Heather - Yeah... not much more for me to say :)

septembermom - Actually, when I start wondering, that's when I start getting scared....

MaBunny - Oh sure, YOU think it's funny. It isn't your child being taught misspelling at an early age!

Mary - I'm with you. Spelling and grammar are my pet peeves. Except, of course, when I make a mistake!

Melisa - You've seen my handwriting. It isn't that neat. I could never be an elementary teacher.

Veggie Mom - I can't figure it out. My head started hurting when I thought about it too much.

Angie - Yep, I don't have much more either.

Jeff - Like a freight train, huh? I'm not quite sure how to take that....

Ryan Ashley Scott - No, he didn't. I should show the other side, but it just has his name written horizontally and vertically intertwined. But he did it with his left hand at least!

Aubrey - I will be sure to let everyone know. It may be the new word of the year for Websters! (Or at least new meaning of a word)

Karen - That's ok. It was still funny :)

  9. Oh my. I can't stand when teachers misspell things!! I'm also a freak about grammatically incorrect or misspelled signs, as well. :)

  10. LOL why do teachers have kids write everything in rhyme? It's enough to want to make a person quail. Or wail. Or throw a pail!

    LOL

  11. This actually happened to me when I was younger... The word in question was "committed" and it was spelt as "commited". I learnt the real spelling soon after failing that spelling test, so now it's something that I never forget because of it!

  12. morninglight mama - Oh those are other favorites of mine... like the "complimentary valet parking" I see all the time. Eesh.

Angela - Umm, rhyming has some purpose. I know it does. I just didn't major in education to know why ;)

Astharis - Oh that has to be frustrating. I will say that I know what you mean about learning something after getting it wrong. I'll never forget how to spell cheese!
