There's A Myth Out There That Running Is Good For You

People say all the time that running is good for you. Once you've been running, it releases these wonderful endorphins that make you feel so good and blah blah blah. Yay, exercise is wonderful.

I'd like to tell you the truth about running. It is not good. Running is bad, and I have proof. Do you see my poor toes?

When I took off my shoe this morning, I not only had my usual chip through the middle of my big left toe, but the nail on my right big toe had been ripped and torn, and the polish on another toe was completely missing. sigh

So the next time someone tells you that you should try running because it's good for you, just point them in my direction. It's not. Just look what it does! But ummnmm, that said, I'll see you at the gym tomorrow morning?

THIS is exactly why I don't run.

Those running moms who pass me when I drive make me feel guilty for a second when I am downing a hershey bar lol

My nails and nail polish look like this too...probably because of all the walking I do! But I can't do without walking, as is probably the case with you and running.

Another item to add to my 'do not run' list.

Ouch!

And did you realize your nail polish matches your blog background :-)

I'd rather have pretty toes than go to the gym! I like this post!!!

Melisa - I've run with you before... c'mon, it was the tutu. You loved it so much that you couldn't stand the idea of running without justification that would allow you to wear it again.

Kelly - Wait, there are moms running who PASS you while you're driving? Sheesh. I'm gonna go hide in a corner now.

Pat - True... and it's nice to have the excuse that I "need" the pampering, but well, maybe I'll go tomorrow. It's hard to justify the expense of it, especially at the holidays though!

Tara - Oooo I think I want to see that list. I feel like it has some good potential.

Joanna - NO! I didn't realize it at all, but I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. I'm sort of a purple person if you haven't noticed :)

Tami - Glad I could help you justify. This was my goal!

I wish that I could write a post about 'a myth out there that exercising is good for you'. I can't, because it so happens to be good for you. I wish I had the determination to work out for any length of time. So kudos to you for running! But keep those toes healthy and pampered, or it's not worth it!! =)

Sandra - Oh come now... you just need to be creative! You can absolutely figure out some myth somewhere. And no, I still haven't gone to do anything about my toes.
