Men. They Think They're Funny

I have a very yummy - and natural! - kettle corn giveaway here!

***

I have a cool little thing in my shower - and no, it's not what you'd expect. I have a waterproof notepad and pencil. You know, so I can make those lists that I talk about sometimes. It's actually a pretty cool thing to have.

Some people abuse the privilege though, as evidenced by this "conversation."

Let me translate for those of you who don't read scribble.

My husband: I reserved a rm 4 Friday (7/23 drawn in with an arrow - just in case I wasn't sure from the context of the rest of the note what date he was talking about ... and because it was so germane to the discussion anyway) night at Imperial Palace (right there, this should give you a clue that he's going alone and I'm staying home!) for $56 (including tax), and I'll take the $5 shuttle instead of a taxi.

Me: Do you know how much I hate text speak? (It's truly a pet peeve of mine, especially coming from educated people when writing and not actually texting.) And is this really something to share via shower mail? (Because, ya know - when talking about vacations, especially guy weekends, maybe this should be a real converation?)  Am I that scary? (Hey, there has to be some justification, right? I'm trying to throw him a lifeline here.)

My husband: Shower mail! Ha! Good one! We've invented a whole new form of communication!

And once again? Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. At least I can find the humor in how guys take in information and process it, right?

LoL that is to funny. I love the notepad. Ahh men! At work we have created a "condition" for the odd things the men in our life do. We call it SBS stupid boy syndrome! LoL after extensive research & study we have found it can affect men of all ages. Also some grown men are prone to "man-fits" a lesser condition that is only temporary :) SBS explains a lot to us.

Hey, any communication between a husband and wife is a luxury some days :) Love the shower mail!

Ohhhh I agree shower email maybe I could get Rick to actually listen to something I say!!!!

You're hubs is cracking me up!

Hilarious! Shower mail! Now that's something I would definitely use, not so much for communicating with the hubster, but for making lists. It seems I always think of something I need to get at the store when I'm in the shower and I forget about it once I get out.

I think shower mail is hysterical! I do have a better idea to help you enhance your communication system. Schedule a meeting in the shower together, like reserving a conference room in the office. Sometimes those face to face interactions are priceless when it comes to communication.

More importantly, WHERE CAN I GET ONE OF THOSE PADS???????????

Hyacynth June 27, 2010 at 8:41 PM

Shower mail is a most excellent idea!! Do you know how many good conversations I could have with hubs via shower mail?? And think of the possiblities for when the little ones are older.
Me: Clean your room or I'll turn off the hot water. You wouldn't like that now would you??

lol!!!
And echoing Melisa -- where DO you get one of those?

Michelle June 27, 2010 at 8:54 PM

NYCGirl - Ahhh, I like that it has a name. I think. I'm going to have to use that one.

Mary - Ooo I dunno, I think it might be too easy to "not see" the notes for nagging to be effective.

Tara - Ummm YEAH.

Kelly - True, but with me home and him home for the summer, you wouldn't think he'd have to resort to this. would you?

Alexis - He cracks me up, too. In a good way fortunately ;)

Pat - Exactly! That was the point of it initially: for me to have another space to jot down lists. It's been taken over.

WeaselMomma - That would be your idea!

Melisa - They're Aqua Notes and you can get them online at their website: myaquanotes.com

Hyacynth - Oooo I like the threats to children via shower mail. That is a good idea! See above for purchasing info!

How did I not know there was waterproof paper? And how awesome is it that you have some? And invented shower mail?!

Please tell me that you two communicate outside the shower, though.

And if you'd shower together, you wouldn't need notes. I'm just saying.

Karen - I don't know. Apparently I'm going to need a commission from Aqua Notes after this one, though ;) We do communicate primarily outside the shower... get your mind out of the gutter!
