Steel Toed Boots

*sigh*

This is Day Four. Day FOUR. Of what should be at least 180 days, if not more. And no, this is Day Four.

Technically, today is now Day Six. I'm embarrassed to post what they look like now. I thought it was only boys who did these kinds of things, but no, HIS shoes are just fine, thank you very much.

I'm definitely going with steel-toed boots next time. Do you think they make them in a toddler size eight?

PS I have a review up on my review site talking about ovarian cancer and a promotion going on this month to raise money for research. Go check it out -- and please comment!

Steel toed boots are a great idea! Do they make those in pink?

Can you return this pair?

I really did laugh out loud when I big-a-fied the photo. It should be illegal to put satin-type fabric on wee ones' sneakers! Maybe she could color the underneath part with a pink permanent marker pen to save the expense of steel-toed shoes.

I believe you, but I don't believe it!

It bugs the hell out of me that we pay good money for products that are not meant to last. Of course the 4 yo wearing holds some responsibility but still a week and they look like that?

How funny! I just wrote in my blog about day four of school! I'd take your day four over mine! wanna trade?????

Can you march those shoes right back to the store? I bet you can't, because if you could, you would have mentioned that you were going to do just that. That sucks. You should not be having those quality problems on day four. Ugh.

Steel toed boots might work....

I agree with everyone else...satin fabric on itty bitty one's shoes should be a big NO NO. You should definitely take them back if the store will accept them. If not, then a well written email or phone call to the manufacturer may provide you better results...if you email, link up your blog post! Good luck!

Now there's a million dollar idea! Steeltoed boots for the little ones. Heck i'll get a women's size 7.5 :)

You have some great ideas! I'm amazed at how fast sneaker go these days.

Four days?! That's absurd!

That is crazy. Steel toes might work, but she looks like she's pretty tough ;-)

Mary - Sadly, I don't think I can. Silly me, I bought them from Aldi because they were cute and their return policy isn't so great. On the plus side, they were cheap. Relatively.

Pat - Actually, the right shoe is now separating from the rubber part, so I think we're beyond markers at the moment.

Unknown Mami - That will teach me to buy shoes for a child because they're cute. Only an adult woman is allowed shoes for that reason alone!

Laura - You think? I've told her before that she needs to stop dragging her toes -- her previous shoes weren't in the greatest shape, but at least we got some wear out of them first.

Cookie - True, true. I don't think I want to switch days with you!

Melisa - Aldi. Not the greatest return policy. Plus, SHE loves the, so it's impossible to get them off her feet.

Jennifer - Yep, the satin is a bad idea. Then again, I should have been smart enough to know to avoid that! When I go back to Aldi, I will be asking them about their return policy. And I have the box still so can find the manufacturer. That makes me feel better.

Roxane - I'll get right on it and send you a pair ;)

Kelly - It is amazing isn't it? But I have a feeling schools would quickly outlaw them. There is an awful lot of kicking that happens in school -- imagine it with steel toed boots!

Hyacynth - Umm yeah. I am too embarrassed to put more recent pictures up.

Stacey - She's tough on shoes. She acts much more like a boy in her playing and her comportment. She only LOOKS like an angel!

I hear ya sista! You're preachin' to the choir.

Never underestimate the destructive powers of a girl.

Ohmygosh, four DAYS? Wow. You might try writing a letter to Aldi, anyway, and direct it to the manager of the store where you bought them. I've been in there a couple times and was always impressed with the prices but not the selection. But four days...seems like they should definitely take them back, if only out of moral obligation, LOL! Keep us posted on how it goes if you do return them!

Michelle September 13, 2009 at 8:54 PM

WeaselMomma - So in all your infinite wisdom of five children, what do you DO?

Karen - Absolutely not. She's SO much worse than the boy. It's amazing.

Angela - I still haven't been to Aldi (read: haven't made it to the gym where the Aldi is in the outlot) to complain, but I'll try it out. They do have some decent prices on milk, cheese, meats, and frequently fruits and veggies. The "other" items though, I think I'm done with.
