So This Is What Happens When You Get Older

Phew - I'm almost done with birthday-palooza. I hate to say it, but I think I'm partied out after this weekend. Seven parties in three days, plus one more tonight and one tomorrow. I'm getting old!

But so is Little Miss, or so she informed me on Saturday.

Me: So do you like being four? Does it feel any different today?
Little Miss: Yes, I feel different.
Me: Really, what feels different?
Little Miss: My tummy.
Me: Your ummm tummy feels different today?
Little Miss: Yes!
Me: How does your tummy feel different?
Little Miss: I don't know. It just does.

Well, ok then.

And a few minutes later, unsolicited:

Little Miss: Mommy, my arms also feel much longer and stronger now that I'm four, too.

So now if you want to know whether you're getting older or not, just check out your arms and your tummy. It's foolproof according to Little Miss!

And yay, she had fun at her birthday party!

Mister Man decorated the birthday cake for her (dairy free cherry with chocolate icing, per request) with her dollhouse toys. They had pizza just like we did -- I thought it was sweet that he chose the doll and food that looked like her.

Notice that he also put a begging cat into the tableau. I swear our cats are better mannered than this one!

For the party at the salon, we had ice cream cone cupcakes that were quite yummy -- or so I was told. By that point, I was done with cake!

Little Miss and her friends all had their nails painted, hair done, and played fun games like freeze music (or whatever it's called) and Simon Says.

Her favorite present, of course, was the dairy free chocolates that Mister Man and I bought for her. We're raising her right!

So basically you've had two weekends in a row of countless parties. You're an animal: no wonder you feel old! haha

Adorable pics: and I love the cake too! So cute!

You threw a great party!! I'm sure Little Miss had a blast. We have that same dollhouse too. Cute how you used the pieces for the cake:) My daughter turned 4 yesterday. She thinks she is as big as a "giant" now! Terrific photos, Michelle. You must be wiped out from all that party planning. Hope you get some rest!

What fun! I suspect that we are only a year-or-so away from a good decade of girly birthday parties - I will put the local salon on speed-dial now!

(P.S. Sorry for 'disappearing' for so long - glad to see that you and yours are doing well!)

Awww, those pics are sweet! Love the salon party. I think I'll a page out of the Little Miss book for my own birthday. ;)

Monsoon will be four next week. I'm so sappy I can't stand to think about it!

I LOVE the party at the salon. That's an idea for my teenager, too. Looks like a great time was had by all.

My arms and tummy are definite proof that I am getting older. The older I get, the softer they get. Little Miss is a smart little cutie.

Jill - I did add pictures. And the cat... well, he does (no pun intended) take the cake!

Melisa - YES! That's my problem. Thank you.

MaBunny - Oh, it was a blast. She's already planning the next party!

Fishsticks ad Fireflies - A whole decade? Oh, please no! I'm not up for the girlie girl thing... especially not for that long.

RAS - Oooo, I should ask for this for MY birthday, shouldn't I?

Karen - I bet she'd love it! Even Mister Man had a great time ... playing video games in the front area (his first time ever).

Kori - Oh but she did. She wants to know when her next birthday is, poor thing.

whatwas - True, true... but sometimes my mind insists that I am very old!

Weaselmomma - You crack me up! That's so not where she was going with this, and you know it.

So cute, what a fun party! :)

Cookie - Aww, thanks. And ummm I'm beginning to think I should take credit for the cake, but that was ALL Mister Man. I was working on the pizzas and came into the kitchen to discover what he'd chosen to decorate the cake and how he chose to do it.

Steph - It was fun. Keep it in mind for when your Munchkin is old enough to enjoy similar pampering!
