Hey, It Could Be A Vacuum Cleaner

You know they're truly sweet and innocent, but we had some great encounters yesterday that just prove the wee ones are also hysterical. To me at least.

In the morning, I tried to hold back coming downstairs so that my husband could do all the prep work for Mother's Day. As I emerged from the bedroom, Mister Man shouted to me.

Mister Man: Guess what! You have presents downstairs!
Me: Oh, how fun. Thank you, Kiddo.
Little Miss: Yeah, you got candy.
Me: Oh, yum. I bet it's good candy, huh?
Mister Man: Yep, it's leftover candy that we forgot to give you last year.

Oh ummm, thanks? I think?

Perfect Mother's Day gift! LOL. I thought he was gonna say, leftover from Easter, but a whole year leftover--Oh boy!

Awesome. I hear there are less calories in old candy. :)

Love that Mister Man honesty! So funny. I can imagine the look on your husband's face when the big secret was let out!

Manic - Actually, I've since found out that it was leftover from Christmas... so technically last year but thankfully not last Mother's Day. The entertaining thing is that my husband didn't tell Mister Man it was leftover. He simply remembers that at Christmastime that was supposed to be a present for me that they forgot about. The kid knocks my socks off.

Melisa - Uhhhh wanna test that theory for me? They're Raisinettes, Nestle Crunch bite thingies and Mike & Ike. Oh and microwave popcorn. None of the stuff that I would eat....

Life with Kaison - Yeah, but the popcorn containers that it came with were ummm cool.

Megryansmom - Glad you loved Caputos as much as I do. Although sadly I haven't been there in a couple weeks almost. I've been too busy to make it out that way. And my pantry has the proof!

septembermom - Yeah, his face was pretty priceless. The complete unabashed hanging of the head was my favorite, I think.

That's too funny! My husband bought me clearance Peeps at the store, and I thought that was bad :)

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Hope you had a great MOthers Day! sounds like it got off to a great start!

Michelle May 12, 2009 at 8:57 PM

Carrie - Oh my. I certainly hope you at least like Peeps!

MaBunny - It wasn't a bad one at all. Definitely entertaining from this to the t-ball game to trying to teach my mom to roast potatoes :)

ROFL!

Cookie - I'm glad you enjoyed the concept. But I'm guessing you got Mother's Day done right :)

Heather May 14, 2009 at 5:11 PM

It's the thought that counts, right!?

Cassie May 16, 2009 at 1:52 PM

That's hilarious!

Michelle May 16, 2009 at 9:55 PM

Heather - If it's the thought that counts, then I think my husband may be in trouble ;)

Cassie - Yeah, highly entertaining. I actually do think it's pretty funny.

betty-NZ May 16, 2009 at 11:56 PM

Hehe You gotta love the honesty! Fortunately, it truly is the thought that counts!!

Michelle May 18, 2009 at 9:15 PM

bettyl - Yeah... you and Heather seem to be on the same page with that one. Personally, the thought makes me giggle!
