Shhh! He's watching me

I'm beginning to think that my husband has somehow discovered my blog (hi, Honey, I love you!). And I don't know that I like that. How else can I vent without hurting someone's feelings?

Why do I suspect this? Well, you may recall me drooling over an iPod due to my current iPod having lots of yucky issues. You know like freezing repeatedly and requiring me to reset it every time I use it.

My frugal nature of course says that my current iPod works just fine so long as resetting it brings it back to life. And so far, it has. Therefore, I'm not going to buy myself a new iPod. Had I won one, however, I would gladly have accepted it and brought it into the regular rotation. Of course, I didn't win one.

So what does my husband show up with?

Yep, that's right. An iPod Nano. An 8G iPod Nano. In silver. Sounds suspiciously familiar, doesn't it?

Ostensibly, the Nano is a replacement anniversary present. Our anniversary was back in May, and my husband gave me a wooden swing for our yard. except that our yard really has no feasible place for a swing. So I have yet to tell him which one of the choices he presented I want.

I am debating whether I keep this one or not. My husband gave me the receipt with the Nano because he knows me.

Do I really need a new one? It won't fit into the neat little armband I have for when I'm running, so I'd have to get a new one of those, too. And really, my old one works; I just need to reset it every half hour or so.

But it is awfully cool. And it is my anniversary present now. And technically, I have 90 days to decide whether or not I want to keep it so long as it stays in the box.

***************

SOOOO, an update here. We're back from Vegas (yay!) and had tons of fun. I feel so much more relaxed after some completely adult only time. Although I will say that I'm really glad to be away from the smoke. I forgot how much I hate it. (Thank you, Illinois congress!) I'll post a total update on the trip later (I want to include some pics of the hotel, etc).

And although we leave again tomorrow for Minnesota with the wee ones, the hotel we're staying at has wireless Internet and the wee ones take naps and go to bed early, so I'll try to catch up on some reading then.

Lastly, now that I took off the approval of each comment, I no longer get anything emailed to me, which makes it harder to track which and when posts have new comments. Anyone know what I need to change to get emails again?

OK, I got my package, thanks a million!!! And KEEP the nano...it's just meant to be :) The only reason to not keep it...is to return it to get the 80gig video ipod...i love mine!

Steph - Yeah, I think it's cute, too! How goes the running for you?

Ya Ya's Mom - Glad to hear you got your package! And ummm I'm seriously considering IF I keep the Nano to keep *A* nano... like yep, the 80 gig video one ;) Because eventually we'll get the new Tivo that will allow me to download from Tivo to my iPod like some of my fancy friends do.

Hmmm, verrry suspicious about the ipod.. but that was very sweet of him to do that.
A GPS device? hmm, hubby just got me a whole bunch of candles and body stuff as an early anniversary gift. Maybe I'll suggest a GPS device for the car for Christmas!
Thanks for the idea Michelle!

Frugality be damned! I'd keep the ipod. My husband knows about my blog, but I'm pretty sure he doesn't read it. his mom does though... -sigh-

Mabunny - I agree. The timing and item are quite suspicious. But really, I'm not complaining about the gift! And definitely go for the GPS device. Everyone I know who has one -- including my mom with "Betty" -- absolutely loves them!

Sydney - I like your attitude. I have a feeling I'll end up keeping the/an iPod one way or the other. The one I have now is awfully frustrating (although I *love* my earpiece but those are transferrable). Bummer that your MIL reads it. I don't think mine knows what a blog is. Thank goodness, or I'd be in trouble after one of last week's posts!

I'm late coming in on this one too, but did no one tell you how to get notification of comments by email? That's what I do. I don't have to approve each one, but it sends me an email anytime someone posts a comment. I don't get a deluge of comments, so the extra emails are no problem (in fact, they make my day, LOL!)

Hugs!

Welcome back! I understand you wanting the blog just for you and your thoughts, but it was awfully sweet of him.

Angela - Ummm, no. Now that I'm back in town and comments won't be backing up for days on end, I re-enabled the approval required for comments, so I get an email again. Not sure what I'm doing wrong on the other part, but whatever.... And yes, I like getting the emails -- one so I know WHEN to check my blog and two so I know which comment appeared on which posts!

Anymommy - Thanks! And ummm yes, it is definitely for my thoughts. And I don't know for sure that he's reading, just that the timing was awfully suspicious. If he has the details on where my blog, he didn't get them from me!

Keep the nano. This is you iPod talking. :-)

And I'm guessing since comment moderation is still on, you haven't found how to fix it so you just get emails without having to moderate? If that's the case, let me know and I can tell you how to fix it.
