Anyone Hungry?

This morning, I went to wake up Little Miss. She was sleeping fairly late, and it was time for us to get going. As I walked into her room, I saw this:

She obviously wasn't sleeping, but wonderful little girl that she is, she decided that staying in her bed and in her room quietly playing was a better alternative than whining or running out of her room. Actually, neither of the wee ones will get out of bed without being told it's ok. With Mister Man, it took weeks of me telling him it was ok to come out to go potty at night before he'd do it on his own. I've actually been somewhat concerned that if there were ever a fire or some other emergency and I couldn't get to their rooms, they'd never come out.

In general though, I know that I'm blessed, and I'm very grateful for this. And when I walked into her room, the whole scene entertained me.

Me: Whatcha doing, Little Miss?
Little Miss: They're all hungry.
Me (slightly confused): Hungry?
Little Miss: Yes, they're all eating a cheeseburger with nothing on it.
Me: Oh, so that's the table?
Little Miss: No, Mommy. That's the lunchcounter.

Oh. My bad. Apparently they've been eating out a little more than they should now that Daddy's home for the summer. I was wondering what he was doing to occupy his days when I was working. Now I know.

And yes, Mister Man of course had to get into the action, too. I think he was half asleep though. And before you ask, yes, those are Thomas pjs that Little Miss is wearing. They used to be Mister Man's, but she insists on wearing them now. And to be honest, I'm totally ok with handing down pjs and not having to buy more.

I love that they won't get out of bed without being told - can you teach Micah?

I got the package yesterday and the family rejoiced. I beat them off though and have managed to salvage some candy for myself. ;)

My girls do this same stuff in the morning and I LOVE IT! Imaginative play is one of the coolest stages that I've stumbled upon. And my girls have a much deeper affection for Thomas the Train than they do for any baby doll or princess. Too funnyY

Karen - I don't think I can teach Micah, sorry! I'm still not sure how I convinced them to stay in their beds (but it may have involved me being a "mean mommy" a few times). And I'm glad to hear you got your package and enjoyed it! I've yet to receive my pay it forward prizes though... so no new contests yet!

Angie - I do love the imaginative play stages! We had a friend over this morning, and it was hilarious to watch the three playing! And I'm glad I'm not the only one with a girl obsessed by Thomas.

MaBunny - The lunchcounter was definitely imaginative. But what does it say about my husband that as soon as he spends time watching them regularly Little Miss starts pretending about eating cheeseburgers in a restaurant. Hmmmm.

So cute! And, I love that they stay in their beds. My pretty big almost three year olds are still in cribs because I so fear giving them freedom.

Cute kids! But your daughter looks guilty of something in the first pic. Are you sure she didn't get away with something there? ;b
